The Innovation Lab for Vaccine Delivery Research (VaxLab) was founded in 2021 at Duke Kunshan University, China, with strategic support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. VaxLab, chaired by Professor Shenglan Tang, aims to provide new evidence for developing national immunization programs, technical support for pilot studies, and scaling up WHO-recommended vaccines’ usage.

Since 2021, VaxLab has established collaborative networks with numerous key stakeholders in China, including disease control agencies, think tanks, institutions, academia, and industry. Among the main partners are the Development Research Center of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, China National Health Development Research Center, Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Beijing Center for Disease Prevention and Control, Peking University, Fudan University, Zhejiang University, Sichuan University, etc.

With strong support from funders and partners, VaxLab plans to broaden the content and scope of its research. Over the upcoming two years, our focus will involve exploring collaboration with partners in ASEAN and other Asian countries, while also deepening exchanges and discussions with partners, policymakers, and academics about the field of vaccine delivery, communication promotion, and exchange on the project’s platform.
