Melinda is currently working on strengthening national immunization programs and building the capacity of national immunization technical advisory groups (NITAGs) across countries in Southeast Asia and the Western Pacific. Her research interests and areas of expertise include new vaccine introduction, vaccine financing and health economic evaluations, evidence-based vaccine policymaking, health policy and system strengthening, and healthy ageing. She has authored and co-authored over 40 academic papers published in leading international journals such as The Lancet Public Health, PLOS Medicine, and BMJ Global Health. Before joining NCIRS, she served as the Associate Director of Research at the Beijing Office of FHI 360, and as a Research Fellow at the Global Health Research Center at Duke Kunshan University. She obtained a bachelor’s degree from Peking University Health Science Center, China, and a master’s degree from Duke University, US, and a PhD’s degree from University of New South Wales (UNSW), Austrilia.
