The Innovation Lab for Vaccine Delivery Research<\/strong>\u00a0(VaxLab) was founded in 2021 at Duke Kunshan University, China, supported by the Gates Foundation. VaxLab, led by Professor Shenglan Tang, aims to advance the National Immunization Program in China by producing high quality evidence and conducting policy advocacy to improve the population’s health outcomes. Since its establishment, VaxLab has collaborated with multiple stakeholders, including the disease prevention and control centers, think tanks, and research institutes in China and worldwide.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Now that we have a deep understanding of the importance of vaccine development, what is actually just as important as vaccine development is universal access to vaccines. Thanks to the Gates Foundation and the partner institutions involved in its creation, the new laboratory will provide academic support for immunization practices in China. “With the generous support of the Gates Foundation and various partners, we are pleased to establish the Vaccine Delivery Research Innovation Lab at Duke Kunshan University. Our national immunization program has made world-renowned achievements over the past decades, significantly reducing the burden of relevant vaccine-preventable diseases. Looking ahead, there are still many issues and challenges to achieve a comprehensive increase in coverage of priority vaccines, especially those recommended by the World Health Organization but not yet included in our national immunization program. The Vaccine Delivery Research Innovation Laboratory will actively collaborate with government think tanks, CDC departments and top universities to generate and disseminate high-quality scientific evidence to support the implementation, expansion and sustainability of national immunization planning efforts, help achieve the immunization-related goals of the Immunization Agenda<\/span> 2030 <\/span>and Healthy China 2030, and ultimately enable more people to enjoy the health benefits of vaccines. “<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
